Respiratory Fit-testing Course

Participants will use an easy-to-navigate online platform for the course’s theoretical part, allowing them to study at their own speed. After completing the online portion, they will spend a full day in a classroom focused on practical training and skill-building, ensuring they fully grasp the material and can confidently apply fit-testing procedures.

The course covers both qualitative and quantitative methods of fit-testing, equipping participants with the essential techniques and standards. The curriculum includes:

2. General Fit Test Considerations and Selection of RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment)
   • Factors to consider when selecting appropriate RPE.

3. Fit-Test Records
   • Proper documentation and maintenance of fit-test records.
   • Compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.
   • Accurate fit test reports.
4. Fit-Testing Procedures
   • Step-by-step instructions for conducting qualitative and quantitative fit-tests.
   • Hands-on practice and demonstration of techniques.
   • Use of the PortaCount machine for quantitative testing.
5. Maintenance Requirements
   • Best practices for maintaining and storing RPE.
   • Regular checks and maintenance schedules to ensure ongoing protection.
